Hello! My name is Alicia Jones, but the kids call me Ms. JJ. I am the Functional Skills teacher at Arlington Elementary School. This will be my ninth year at Arlington Elementary School and I can't wait to see all the adventures this year will bring!
MORE ABOUT ME: I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and lived there until I went to college. I'm a Mississippi State graduate and was a pitcher for the Bulldogs. While at MSU, I fell in LOVE with the best occupation in the world—TEACHING—and earned my Undergraduate Degree and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, with an add-on in Special Education. This will be my 16th year teaching. I taught Resource Math at Houston High School, Resource Math and Reading in Kentucky, and then moved back to Memphis and have been at Arlington Elementary ever since. I was a special education resource teacher in Math for seven years at AES. This is my second year as the Functional Skills teacher and I can honestly say I'm in LOVE with this position! I married my perfect match in 2010 and can’t wait to get home each night to tell him about my day! We have a four year old named Lily and can’t get enough of her! She keeps us on our toes, makes us laugh, and teaches us it's the small things in life that make the BIG differences. Lily has FOUR loveable FUR brothers: Duke--our 100 pound German Shepherd Mercedes--our 12 pound Miniature Pinscher Finn--our 74 pound twin mutt Addie--our 47 pound twin mutt |
